UPDATE: Witnesses sought after woman, 18, seriously hurt in car crash

A young woman suffered serious chest injuries when her car crashed into a wall on Rossall Promenade.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 6.25am today.

A Ford Fiesta car had collided with a wall.

The driver, an 18-year-old woman from Blackpool, suffered serious chest injuries was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

The road was closed for almost four hours while accident investigators attended the scene.

Temp sergeant Adam Crossley, of Lancashire Police, said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Cleveleys.

“A woman has been left with serious injuries and we want to establish exactly what happened. We have spoken to a number of people at the scene but if you have any information which might assist with our investigation, please get in touch.”
