UPDATE: Van and car stolen from dog walkers

Burglars made off with an eye-catching van and a car belonging to staff from a Blackpool dog walking business.

Police were called to a house on Langdale Road at 6.10am on Tuesday to reports of a break-in.

Car keys, laptops, an iPad and a small amount of cash had been stolen, along with a  Nissan NV200 van from ‘Walkies’ dog walking and pet sitting service and a family car belonging to a Walkies staff member.

The van was later recovered by police on Rossett Avenue, but the car, a brown Citroen Picasso, remains missing.

Walkies owner Wendy Ashworth has now appealed for anyone who has seen the car to come forward.

She said: “There was nothing in the van that they could have wanted to steal. It was empty.

“The suspicious thing is that it was found just a few streets away.

“We need to keep an eye on it.”

She added that the burglary had left her employee ‘shaken’.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the police on 101 quoting the log number LC20170905-0143.
