UPDATE: Dogs seized from travellers site after boy seen 'kicking' puppy

Three tiny puppies have reportedly been seized from a South Shore travellers site.

The RSPCA was called to Lockheed Court, where six caravans and six vans could be seen this morning.

One woman, who did not wish to be named, said she called the RSPCA at around 11.40am after she witnessed what she believed was animal abuse on the site.

She described what she saw as "shocking", saying she believed a child had struck one of the animals.

She said "The RSPCA came out around noon and they were able to take the video footage that I took. They took the three puppies, but they couldn't find the mother.

"I was extremely worried about the welfare of the dogs."

Video footage shared with The Gazette appears to show a young boy repeatedly kicking one of the puppies.

The RSPCA was approached for comment.

A spokesman said: "We are aware of this. Unfortunately we are unable to discuss complaints about specific people and what action may have been taken. We understand how frustrating that is for animals lovers but releasing information could prejudice a future prosecution or could lead to us being fined.
