An arson investigation has is continuing today after a three storey blaze at a derelict hotel.
Firefighters from across the Fylde coast spent more than three hours battling the flames at the former Misterton Hotel, on Blundell Street, South Shore.
The crews were called to the hotel, which has been gutted internally as a result of the fire, shortly after 7pm last night.
Sixteen firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire at its peak.
Watch manager Geoff Etheridge, from South Shore fire station, said: “It was a serious fire with serious potential to spread right along the row.
“They’re very difficult fires to tackle and very dangerous for the firefighters.”
No-one was injured in the blaze.
The hotel closed down in November 2012.
