Two taken to hospital after South Shore crash

A man and a woman suffered head and face injuries after they were involved in a crash in South Shore, say fire services.

Emergency services were called after a van crashed into a garden wall on Faringdon Avenue at around 6.20pm on Tuesday, June 26.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "There were two people in the vehicle when it crashed into a garden wall.

"An air ambulance which was passing was diverted and assisted us in rescuing the trapped person.

"A man and a woman were taken to hospital via land ambulance.

"They suffered head injuries and cuts to their heads and faces, but are not believed to be seriously injured."

The road was blocked for around an hour.
