A motorcyclist has died from his injuries after his bike collided with a car.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was riding a Suzuki bike when his vehicle and a Jaguar X-Type Estate collided on Amounderness Way in Fleetwood, between the Nautical College and Morrisons supermarket, Cleveleys.
Amounderness Way, between West Drive, Cleveleys, and Fleetwood Nautical College, Fleetwood, was closed by police for several hours at around 1.20pm yesterday following the incident.
The driver of the car received minor injuries and was treated for shock.
Sgt Dave Hogarth, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “This is a tragic incident where a man has sadly lost his life.
“I would appeal for anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information to get in touch with police.”
In a separate incident, a Blackpool man was killed after he was struck by a lorry on the M61 motorway in the early hours of Friday morning.
Stephen Hayes, 68, from the resort, is thought to have been on foot on the northbound carriageway, north of Rivington Services, between Junction 6 and 8 at 1.30am.
Officers believe he had been walking on the motorway after visiting the services.
Roads Policing Officer Sgt Finn Quainton said: “We are still trying to piece together exactly what has happened and why Mr Hayes has come to be on foot on the motorway.”
