SOLDIERS aiming to raise £100,000 for charity Help For Heroes and the Royal British Legion have put their faith in a Blackpool-built car.
Warrant Officer Benn Laidler and Corporal Mick Clark are the brains behind a new rally covering some of the most famous race tracks and roads across Europe.
WO Laidler will take part in his Bristol Avenue-built TVR Tuscan as he takes on the Top Gear test track, Monaco, Stelvio National Park in Italy and the challenging Nurburgring Circuit in Germany
The rally takes place from August 18 to 25 and the route includes a five mile drive for every serving soldier who has died on duty in Afghanistan. 50 drivers have already signed up.
Every entrant has to cover their own costs so all funds raised go to the charities.
WO Laidler said: “Any amount people would like to give, big or small, would be wonderful.”
