The Mount Pavilion will be hosting Finders Keepers, a free family event which includes a treasure hunt round the gardens with prizes for the first 30 to finish.

On display in the pavilion will be photographs of days gone by and poetry inspired by the local area, while officers will be available to talk about restoration plans.

Finders Keepers takes place at the Mount Pavilion from 1 to 3pm.

Starting in autumn, Wyre Council, which owns the property, plans to replace the Grade II-registered garden’s railings and stone copings along the esplanade boundary wall and restore the two timber shelters to their original design.

Improvements to the pathways and soft landscaping along the seaward side will follow next year.

There is also a public consultation for residents.

A Wyre spokeswoman said: “Over summer we’re talking to residents and schoolchildren about what they like about the Mount and how it could be in the future.

“We’re using the feedback to submit an initial bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for more money to transform the pavilion, rose garden and gate lodge.”
