Travellers kicked off a recreation ground by court order have returned to the same spot, acourt heard.
In August, Blackpool Council took legal action in the town’s magistrates court to have travellers, their families and vehicles moved off Layton Recreation Ground at Collingwood Road, Layton.
There is no reason why they should not move or be removed
They have been removed from several sites since, including one on Lytham Green.
Now Blackpool Council has had to act again after nine travellers families moved back onto Layton Recreation Ground.
Three of the caravans were among those removed in August, council officer Nicky Wood told magistrates.
She told the hearing: “There is no reason why they should not move or be removed. They have all been served legal notice to quit although I gather that three of the men are in custody in Lancaster in connection with illegal scrap metal dealing.”
Magistrates granted the latest application which allows the council to tow vehicles off site, which is owned by the local authority.
