A woman hit by a car outside a Blackpool petrol station has been airlifted to hospital with “extensive” injuries.
Air ambulance crew landed on the grassy area next to the Morrisons car park, off Squires Gate Lane, this afternoon after the woman was badly hurt in the crash.
Fire crews, police and paramedics were also called to the petrol station, which has since reopened, shortly after 1.25pm.
A police spokesman said the car appeared to have lost control and hit the woman before colliding with a signpost outside the petrol station.
He added: “A lady was knocked over by a car and she has extensive injuries to her lower leg.”
The woman was flown to Royal Preston Hospital while it is believed the male driver of the silver car suffered minor injuries.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the collision involved one vehicle.
Police are investigating the incident.
