Road blocked and heavy traffic building following crash in Anchorsholme

Heavy traffic was building in Anchorsholme following a collision at the crossroads of Fleetwood Road and Warren Drive today (August 6).

The incident - which was first reported at around 5.30am - had resulted in bus services diverting their routes to avoid the area.

Eyewitnesses have reported the scene has now been cleared and traffic has returned to normal.

In a previous statement, a spokesman for Blackpool Transport said: "Due to an accident at Russell Avenue, the service 7 is diverted between Russell Avenue and Cleveleys."

Bus service 4 was also diverted in both directions between Shore Road and Cleveleys.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the collision.

Lancashire Police and North West Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
