One person freed from vehicle by firefighters after road traffic accident in Blackpool

One person had to be released from a vehicle after a road traffic accident on Preston Old Road in Blackpool.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended a road traffic accident on Preston Old Road in Blackpool today (March 12).

Photos from the scene suggest a red Mazda car may have flipped onto its roof after colliding with a garden wall.

One person was released from the vehicle by firefighters.

The incident, which involved one car, occurred at around 9.26am today.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to a road traffic collision involving one car at 9.26am today.

"Two fire engines from Blackpool were sent to the scene.

"Firefighters released one person from the vehicle. They were treated by paramedics at the scene.

"Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 45 minutes."

Injuries sustained in the accident were minor, according to police.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "This is just a minor injury so we wouldn’t provide details/comment."
