CUSTOMERS at a Blackpool salon had a narrow escape when a car crashed into the front of the shop – just metres from where they were sitting.

The vehicle, which was being driven by an elderly woman, left the road on Clifton Street and crashed into the window of the Hair Boutique Salon at 12.40pm yesterday.

Daran Allen, 49, owner of the shop said: “It all just happened so fast - we were really lucky no-one was killed or injured.

“The car went round the roundabout and one of the customers said she saw it and was scared it wasn’t going to stop. The window and door are badly damaged and we are now just waiting for the building to be assessed.”
