Woman taken to hospital after crash on Mythop Road

The accident happened on Mythop Road near to the junction of Chain Lane at around 4.20pm on Sunday, June 17.

Emergency services attended the scene of the collision which involved a red Polo and a white Citroen.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a collision involving two vehicles.

"The road was blocked for some time while the road was cleared.

"One of the drivers was taken to hospital suffering with a suspected chest injury."

Firefighters attended to make the scene safe.

A fire service spokesman said: "Two cars were involved in this crash which blocked the road.

"Everyone was out of the vehicles when we got there and we worked to make the scene safe to allow the vehicles to be recovered."
