Trapped driver rescued from overturned car in Cleveleys

An older driver had to be cut out of his car after it ended up on its side after a crash in Cleveleys this afternoon.

He was rescued from the vehicle in Anchorsholme Lane East by firefighters at about 4pm.

A spokesman from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "One vehicle driven by an elderly man turned up on its side with him trapped inside.

"Police and paramedics were there. Firefighters from Fleetwood and Bispham removed the roof of the car in order to gain acess and take him out of the vehicle.

"He was taken to Blackpool with minor injuries."
