Firefighters from Blackpool were called just before 9pm on Monday, June 11 to the accident on Wolverton Avenue at the junction of the Prom.

Fire crews arrived to find three male occupants were not trapped in the the car after it collided with a lamppost.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "The occupants were not trapped in the vehicle and firefighters gave first aid.

"A man in his 20s suffered a suspected back injury and was taken to hospital for checks."

The road was closed for a short time while fire crews dealt with a fuel spill at the scene.

Firefighters spent around an hour at the scene.
