Hunt for men who fled car crash that badly injured three women

A police hunt is underway for two men who fled the scene of a serious late-night car crash.

Police were called around 8pm yesterday to Garstang Road West, Blackpool.

A blue BMW M4 car had collided with a Skoda Citigo, mounted a grass verge and crashed into a metal fence.

Two men fled inside the BMW, leaving a 25-year-old female passenger at the scene with a leg injury. She was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

The driver of the Skoda, a 57-year-old woman from Poulton, and a passenger in the car, a 55-year-old woman from Blackpool, each suffered a broken wrist. They were taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

The road was closed for more than six hours while accident investigators attended the scene.

Police are appealing for information following the collision.

Sgt Oliver Jones, of Lancashire Police, said: “An investigation is underway following a serious collision in Blackpool. We are currently looking for two men who made off from the scene.

“If you have any information, or know where they are, please contact us immediately. Furthermore, if you saw the collision and have yet to speak to police, please call.”
