It took crews from South Shore and Blackpool about an hour to get the casulty out to be taken to hospital on Saturday, May 12 at about 3.40pm.

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "Fire crews from South Shore and Blackpool attended a road traffic collision on Bloomfield Road where it was reported a casualty was trapped in one of the vehicles.

"The road traffic collision involved two vehicles and there was one casualty rescued from one of the vehicles using holmatro cutters and spreaders.

"The casualty was then transported to hospital via ambulance.

"Firefighters were in attendance for approximately one hour."
