Family pay tribute to 55-year-old man found dead on motorway

The family of a 55-year-old Preston man whose body was found on the M55 near Broughton last week have paid tribute to 'a much loved brother, brother-in-law and uncle.'

Mark Kay, from Preston, was found on the carriageway near to Tabley Lane Bridge at Woodplumpton in the early hours of Thursday after the alarm was raised by a passing motorist.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been passed to the coroner.

Police issued an appeal for information. Sgt Claire Pearson said: “We are trying to piece together the last movements of this man and so if anyone saw someone at Tabley Lane Bridge or if you have any information that could help with our investigation, please get in contact.”

Mr Kay’s family issued a statement today saying: “Mark was a much loved brother, brother-in-law and uncle and we are all devastated by his loss.”
