She was described as 'cold and wet' but is not believed to have been badly injured.

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said the woman is believed to be in her 40s, and suffered a cut above her eye.

She was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, which was put on standby for her arrival, with 'minor injuries', the spokeswoman added.

Paramedics were called by police at 1.05pm.
