BREAKING: Tram and car collide in centre of Cleveleys

The accident happened at around 2.15pm, with no injuries reported, police say.

Blackpool Transport said fitters are on their way to the scene to assess the damage to the supertram, and that preparations are underway to move it away from the road and back to a nearby stop.

Trams are not currently running between Thornton Gate and Cleveleys, while bus services have also been affected.

Bob Mason, service delivery director at Blackpool Transport, said passengers were on board the southbound tram at the time of the crash, though none have complained of injury.
