A Cuban vibe will be coming to Blackpool town centre tomorrow when Blackpool’s Chilli Fiesta returns for its fourth year.

There will be around 22 stalls in St John’s Square between 10.30am and 5pm selling and producing chilli-based products from chilli cheese to chilli chocolate.

Organised by Blackpool Business Improvement District (BID) and brought to the town by Chilli Fest UK, there will also be live music from noon with Cuban salsa band SalsaDirect and singer Jo Ashton.

Town centre and BID manager Eileen Ormand said: “The Chilli Fiesta is such a great event for the town centre and this year we have even more variety of stalls on offer, and with live music and competitions, it is a day out for all the family.

“It seems there are chilli fans from all backgrounds and ages, from people who appreciate fine dining who want to source ingredients and flavours to tempt their palates to people who want to test themselves by tasting chillies as hot as they can bear.”

Blackpool’s Genting Club is also supporting the event.

Club administrator Dawn Pepper said: “This year we bring our ‘Balls of Fire’ – last man standing food challenge to the stage.

“Previous year’s events have always been a great success and we’re really looking forward to a great day in St John’s Square.”
