A FYLDE coast pop star will be rubbing shoulders with a top US band this month as she joins them on their major tour.

Victoria Hesketh, aka Little Boots, will support the Scissor Sisters as they take to the stage at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London for two nights, on May 16 and 17.

The electro pop princess, who turned 28 this week, is also busy working on the follow-up to her debut album Hands, released in 2009.

The first single off the new album, Shake, was released in November and she has also released a video for a new free download single called Every Night I Say A Prayer.

And there is much to look forward to according to Little Boots, whose parents live in Thornton.

She said: “I am really excited about supporting Scissor Sisters. I’ve always been a really big fan so I can’t wait.

“I had my first live show in London on Friday which was also my birthday.

“It’s been a really busy year so far.

“I have been DJ’ing all over the world and am due to play in Mexico next week.

“I’ve also done a lot of festivals and have been working on new material.”

Every Night I say a Prayer has been released as a limited edition vinyl as well as on free download.

The petite star has also produced a video to accompany the track.

She is seen posing with dancers in the clip, which made its debut on her official YouTube page.

And she is very excited about her forthcoming album, which is expected to be released later in the year.

She added: “I can’t wait to get back out playing live, I’ve got some great new material.

“My second album has taken longer than I’d hoped to get ready but will be worth the wait. It will be wicked to get on stage and play my new songs.”

Despite her busy schedule however and jet setting around the globe, Little Boots does still find time to pop back to her former stomping ground.

She said: “I love being back home with my family and getting to eat my mum’s food.

“London is so hectic, I love coming back to Thornton for a break. I always find time to pop back.”
