The Westinghouse factory at Springfields has again been successful in the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2017.

In recognition of achieving 16 consecutive Gold Awards in previous years, Westinghouse Springfields has now been awarded an Order of Distinction Award in the prestigious annual scheme run by RoSPA.

The 2017 award highlighted initiatives including regular safety workshops for all employees, near-miss reporting, risk assessments and a safety culture.

Managing Director of UK Fuel Operations, Simon Marshall, said: “This is tremendous news and a fitting accolade recognising our employees’ commitment to health and safety.

"The award continues our proud history in the RoSPA Awards. It is the 17th year in succession that our occupational health and safety management systems and culture have been recognised at the highest level, reflecting the importance Westinghouse places on safety throughout the company worldwide.”
