The future of a Blackpool nightspot is in doubt aftera popular venue was put up for sale.

Toast in Wood Street, St Annes which also includes The Loft cocktail bar on the first floor, is on the market as a going concern for £299,995.

When approached by The Gazette, Toast proprietor Richard Caunce said he would be issuing a statement on the matter shortly.

However, sale literature issued by Bolton-based estate agents Meridian Business Sales says the business is reluctantly being offered to market due to ‘genuine personal reasons’.

The Blackpool Toast Cafe and Grill may also be put on the market according to the site but no firm details have yet been released.

The St Annes premises opened in December 2012, giving a new lease of life to the former Joya nightspot and becoming a key feature of St Annes’ cafe quarter.

The literature says the premises have an annual advised turnover of £845,000 and adds: “Since our client established the business he has maintained a steady stream of regular custom and has invested a large amount of time and money into the business to help it become the renowned success it is today.”
