A post mortem examination has revealed a three-year-old girl’s death was caused by medical reasons and was not suspicious, police have confirmed.

Maddison Chell-Broadbent of Kentmere Drive, Marton, was rushed to hospital after coughing up blood at The Manor Nursery, on Mythop Road, at 9.30am on March 31.

The youngster was set to be transferred to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital on the same day, but died before it could take place.

An inquest into the three-year-old’s death will take place in the coming months.

Maddison is survived by her mum Lisa Broadbent, 37, dad Martin Chell, and 12-year-old brother, Robbie.

Speaking last week, Ms Broadbent said: “She was so happy and lovely.

“Her personality was so funny.

“She made everyone smile and everyone loved her.

“Maddison was a dream child who had a wonderful smile and brought joy to everyone.

“Everything she had was Minnie Mouse and her favourite show was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.”

Maddison’s funeral will take place from noon, on Tuesday, April 15, at Sacred Heart Church, Talbot Road, Blackpool.
