POLICE have seized 60 cannabis plants following a raid at a Blackpool property.

Officers went to the address in Clifton Drive yesterday morning.

They discovered three rooms set up for cannabis cultivation and around 60 dried plants.

No arrests have been made but investigations are ongoing.

Sgt Paul Ball of the South Shore neighbourhood police team said: “We executed the drugs warrant as a result of information given to us by the public.

“Drugs can blight our communities and I would urge anyone who has information about drugs or dealing to contact police so that we can take action.”

Neighbour Adam Ashfaq, who lives just a few doors down on Clifton Drive, said: “After they raided the hotel near us on the Promenade, we could smell marijuana in the air.

“We assumed it was the remnants of that, or the smell of the sea.

“We thought it was just a residual smell – you never think that it’s going to be in one of the houses next door to you.”

Last month, hundreds of plants were found at the Sherwood Hotel on the Promenade in North Shore Officers found a sophisticated growing operation, with 150 plants – with a street value of around £40,000 – in one room alone.
