Three fire crews tackle blaze at three-storey building

It took three fire engines to deal with a fire in a three-storey building in the early hours of this morning.

The crews, two from Blackpool and one from South Shore, arived at the Alexandra Road home in Blackpool at 3.42am armed with breathing apparatus.

They then used two hosereels to extinguish the fire on the first floor of the property and portable fan units to extract and disperse the smoke and heat.

There were no casualties and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
