A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a horror crash when a car overturned and ended in a field.
The VW Bora was travelling on Chain Lane, Staining, when it left the road at 2.45pm yesterday.
There were three people in the car when it crashed next to Staining Lodge Golf Club.
Despite the severity of the crash, two people – both women – were able to get out uninjured .
Fire crews and police attended the scene and the Air Ambulance was called in as a precaution.
Only one woman was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, on a stretcher, as a precaution after the crash, which left Chain Lane closed for an hour.
Crew manager Andrew Jones, from Blackpool’s Forest Gate Fire Station, said: “It was quite a bad accident and the occupants were very fortunate their injuries were not too severe. They managed to get out of the car unaided and were looked after by two men from the golf club.
“The Air Ambulance was called in but it was not needed. It could have been a lot worse than it was.”
