THOUSANDS of homeowners faced hours without water this morning after a fault in the supply system.
Home and business owners in central Blackpool, Lytham and St Annes were affected by the fault on a pressure valve.
But engineers were quick to deal with the problem.
A spokeswoman for United Utilities said: “We had a problem with a pressure valve on Thursday morning but we were able to repair it quickly, so supplies are getting back to normal.
“Some people had no water, others reported low water pressure - but we have now fixed the problem.
“Supplies should be back to normal within half an hour of the repair.”
