Thousands of homes left without power
Power is being switched back on for more than 2,000 householders in Longton after a power cut at 10.30am.
Up to 2,150 homes were affected by the outage and were originally told power would remain off until the early evening.
However, it is now understood electricity had been restored to most homes by noon.
No-one from Electricity North West was available for comment.
