FATHERS’ Day could be particularly uplifting for one lucky parent thanks to an exciting competition with Fly Blackpool.

The company, which gives flying lessons and pleasure flights from Blackpool Airport, is laying down a challenge to primary school children to design a new Fly Blackpool Logo. The lucky winner will scale dizzy heights as they will be whisked up into the skies, along with their parent, for the ride of their lives.

Schools are asked to submit entries on behalf of their pupils and help create a shortlist which will be judged by Fly Blackpool bosses.

And the brighter the design the better according to operations co-ordinator Paul Wane.

He said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to grab a great treat for your dad for Father’s Day.

“The pleasure flights we offer are wonderful and it would be a much more memorable day than getting him a pair of socks.

“We are looking for a lovely, bright picture or logo which we could use to advertise our pleasure flights.

“Maybe something like a picture of a plane and Blackpool Tower and the name of the company, we want something which is very bold and stands out.

“There will be two winners so there are plenty of opportunities to make Father’s Day very special.”

There will be an infants and juniors prize and schools are asked to submit the best 10 entries from each age group.

And these children at Heyhouses School cannot wait to get their creative juices flowing as they break up for the half term.

Entries need to be in by Thursday June 16 so the winner can be told on Friday June 17 in time to make the announcement for Father’s day on Sunday June 19.
