Meet Miss Crown and Glory UK 2016/2017.
Poulton’s own Hollie Robinson has scooped another title to add to her collection.
The former Miss Poulton-le-Fylde International, Miss Blackpool Town, Miss West Lancashire and Miss Blackpool, beat off competition from more than 50 other women to scoop the top prize in the national beauty pageant, which took place in Wrexham. She also won the categories of best in interview, swimwear and evening wear.
She raised more than £350 for the charities Solving Kids Cancer, Dean Puplet’s Journey and Trinity Hospice.
Hollie, who is 24 and has been competing in pageants since she was 17, said: “I am still so shocked and overwhelmed my name was called out as the winner.
“There were amazing girls in the final, it must have been a hard decision for the judges to choose.
“I can’t wait to make Blackpool proud and add another UK title to the area, as Joanna Johnson was recently crowned World Supermodel UK.
“I’ve always wanted to represent the UK in a national pageant. I’ve worked hard and raised lots of money for charity over the past few years, it’s lovely to get the recognition.
“I enjoyed every moment, from making appearances, to raising money for charity. I originally entered the Miss Blackpool pageant when I was 17, to boost my confidence and I recommend them to everyone. Many view beauty pageants as just good-looking girls parading around in a bikini – it’s so much more than that today. The word beauty is describing your personality, not your looks.
“I wouldn’t be the strong woman I am without the experiences I gained through pageants. I’m going to continue raising money for my chosen charities and want to help out in my local community as much as possible.”
