Tenants who have gone the extra mile to help others in their community have been recognised at an annual awards ceremony.
Among the winners at Blackpool Coastal Housing’s Community Heroes Awards was Fiona Thomas, who won the Number One Neighbour Award.
She was nominated for her dedication to her neighbours and community including providing support, shopping trips, volunteering at a charity shop and being a member of the Tenants Association.
Almost 100 people attended the event at the Viva showbar, for what was the eighth annual prize-giving by BCH.
Other winners were the Revoe-Lution Community Choir, which has gone from strength to strength over the last two years, gaining members and singing at various events.
John Donnellon, chief executive of BCH, said: “The awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the work our customers and residents do to help strengthen and develop both our local communities and the services we provide at BCH.
“It was great to see so many of our customers and community groups attending the event and I would like to personally congratulate all who were nominated, those that were highly commended, then of course the winners of each award – well done.”
