Emergency services rushed to reports a teenage boy had fallen from the roof of a hotel in Albert Road at around 2.55pm yesterday (Tuesday, December 8).

The Comedy Carpet in front of Blackpool Tower was cleared to allow the air ambulance to land, and numerous vehicles including a rapid response vehicle, a land ambulance, and an operational commander were called to the scene.

The boy, 13, reportedly suffered "serious head and facial injuries" and was taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital for treatment. He is in a serious but stable condition, police said.

Officers say the circumstances regarding the fall are now under investigation and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been informed.
