It’s not just Strictly Come Dancing which is in full swing on the dance-floor this autumn.

It’s now halfway through the season for the hugely popular Monday afternoon tea dance at Lytham’s Lowther Pavilion.

Each week, amateur dancers take to the floor and trip the light fantastic at the West Beach venue, at the social event organised by the Friends of Lowther Pavilion – as part of the organisation’s fund-raising for the theatre.

Blackpool Tower organist Chris Hopkins provides the musical accompaniment – playing all the favourites and taking requests.

The dance starts at 2pm each Monday and refreshments are served during the course of the afternoon.

This current programme will run until November 28.

Tickets cost £5, including refreshments.

n People who live in Wyre can also take to the floor and enjoy the music and company, with a regular Monday afternoon tea dance, at the Marine Hall, in Fleetwood, between 2 and 4pm.
