Categories such as handwork, arts and crafts, confectionery and preserves will give people of all ages the chance to showcase their talents in baking and flower arranging.
Pauline Mitchell, secretary of the horticulture show committee, said: “We do want to stress that everyone from any town is welcome to the event and we are hoping we can get more children involved and make it even bigger and better than its success in previous years.
“With the Great British Bake Off creating such an impact over the years, we hope it will encourage people to get their baking skills in gear and join in.”

Children can try their hand at two or more decorative eggs, making of a miniature garden or a CD cover design.
The 7-11-year-old category has challenges including making an imaginative animal using only vegetables or recyclable material.
The theme around the categories aims to encourage people to recycle and create all things home-made.
