Lancashire Constabulary's West Division Police Headquarters in Blackpool has been officially opened in memory of the fallen officers across Blackpool, Fylde, Wyre, Lancaster and Morecambe.

The National Association of Retired Police Officers (NARPO) was joined by families of Supt Gerry Richardson, PC Angela Bradley, PC Gordon Connolly and PC Colin Morrison – who all died in the line of duty – at the cutting of the ribbon.

Building started on the site of the new headquarters in December 2016 in order to replace Bonny Street station in Blackpool town centre which police bosses said had ‘been falling apart for years’.Construction was completed in June last year and staff moved over from Bonny Street on a phased basis. The front counter opened its doors on July 23.
