Lifeboat crews went to the assistance of a 32-foot barge after it became grounded in the Ribble estuary.
The vessel was trapped on a sandbank for around 11 hours after it was caught out by the low tide at about 1.30pm on Monday.
It was refloated just after midnight today.
The vessel had been making its way to Garstang from Liverpool when it ran aground at Savick Brook near Lea Gate.
Lytham lifeboat attended to ensure the crew was safe, but the barge was able to safely refloat unassisted.
