A JUDGE heard how a family squabble boiled over in the street when a 47-year-old man started to wave a kitchen knife.

Witnesses including children watched as Paul Gray produced the blade in front of his girl-friend’s brother, Guy King outside Mr King’s home on Granville Road, Blackpool.

Gray, of Caunce Street, admitted possessing a blade in a public place and harrassing Mr King causing him alarm when he appeared before District Judge Jeff Brailsford at Blackpool Magistrates Court.

The judge sent Gray to be sentenced at Preston Crown Court.

Gray was bailed to appear at the higher court on August 11.

Pam Smith ,prosecuting, said that Gray had gone to Mr King’s home because he thought Mr King had been making derogatory remarks about him.

The two exchanged words before Gray left only to return with the black handled kitchen knife.

Hugh Pond defending said that the matter had come about because of a family squabble.
