The Thai New Year is being celebrated at Bispham Community Centre later this month.
Activities will be held at the centre on Bispham Road between 9am and 5pm on April 22.
Peter Wallace, treasurer and trustee of the Bispham and District Community Association, said: “In Thailand, the traditional New Year’s Day happens in April. It is called Songkran.
“There is a 543 years difference between the Buddhist calendar and our traditional calendar.
“Our 2013 year is year 2556 in Thailand.
“At the centre you will be able to learn and practice meditation techniques and experience authentic Thai cooking and Thai Handicraft demonstrations.
“Everyone is welcome.”
The centre will have Buddhist monks visiting from their temple.
The event is free and includes Thai food and drinks but donations of tinned food and toiletries to the Buddhist temple will be welcome.
