Shoppers got a surprise when the Army set up a pop-up shop in Blackpool’s Houndshill Shopping Centre.
The shop featured military memorabilia from over the years and on-hand were members of the Army Reservists and Sgt Joe Cork, from the 4th Battalion the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, who is the local reserve forces liaison officer.
They were there to tell residents about the many opportunities available in the Army Reserve, who are trained and ready to serve alongside the regular Army, if needed.
Sgt Cork said: “There are so many opportunities available and we want to make people aware what’s open to them.
“There are so many part-time roles on offer - including physical training instructors, radio operators, chefs, clerks and drivers.
“People can develop their CV, learn new skills, undergo training, do adventurous sports, learn people skills and leadership.”
