A court has agreed to alter the conditions of a man’s bail so he that can smoke.
John Gill, 28, of Leeds Road, Blackpool, had been bailed to keep an overnight curfew inside his mother’s home.
Blackpool magistrates agreed to vary Gill’s bail after Suzanne Mugford, defending, told them: “He is a smoker and his mum will not allow him to smoke inside. She has banned him to the garage for that.”
She added that Gill had made inquiries with the firm which monitored his tag.
It had agreed it could put a monitoring box inside the garage so he would not be breaking his curfew if he went in there for a cigarette.
