TWO sisters who admitted they “partied hard” attacked a woman at a social event.

Hannah and Martha Savage punched the woman during a party at Ansdell Institute.

Hannah Savage said she drunk half-a-litre of vodka, some wine and taken a line of cocaine before the attack and her sister had drunk eight to nine brandies and coke.

The defendants – aged 23 and 22 – both of St Andrew’s Road South, St Annes, both admitted assault on July 30 last year.

They were sentenced to 80 hours unpaid work for the community, put on 12 months supervision and ordered to pay £100 compensation.

District Judge Jeff Brailsford sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court, said: “This was a serious and nasty drunken assault.”

Allan Cobain, defending, said Martha had gone out with the former boyfriend of the victim. They had then split up and the boyfriend went back with the victim.

Comments about this had been made on social networking site Facebook.

Mr Cobain added: “My clients told me – we don’t drink very often but when we do we party hard. They each struck the victim one blow each.”
