“We have been here 12 years and in all those years we have never had an issue.

“There’s a lot of damage done. They have broken our safe. They have smashed the back room and all the cupboards were opened. They have opened all the cans of drinks and put their fingers in my cake display.

“They kicked in the bottom panel of the door. We don’t know the cost of the damage yet or what was taken.”

The shop was closed yesterday while police attended the scene. It is hoped it will reopen today. A police spokesman said an attempt had been made to remove the safe from the shop, but the offenders failed to do so and instead broke into it.

Anyone with any information should call police on 101 quoting WA 1810983.
