Shed fire at Lawson Road allotments under investigation

A shed fire at an allotments in Blackpool is under investigation.

Fire crews were called to Gate 1 of the allotments in Lawson Road, Marton at 9.30pm after a shed caught fire near the site entrance.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) sent two fire engines from Blackpool to the scene and crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel.

No injuries were reported and the incident has not been reported to police.

But the fire service said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

An LFRS spokesman said: "The police were not called but the cause of the fire hasn’t been established."

An investigation is due to take place this morning (February 24).
