Mr Ela is a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the worldwide professional association for legal professionals who advise on family law.

The accreditation is widely regarded as the industry ‘gold standard’.

Geoff Ormrod said: “We’ve seen a surge in demand for our services in recent months and Sharif will be a strong addition to our legal team.

“The administration of an estate requires detailed legal work, often at a stressful time if a close family member has passed away. Sharif’s experience and his empathy and rapport with clients will be in high demand and we warmly welcome him aboard.”

Mr Ela said: “Joining the Ormrods team is the start of an exciting new chapter in my career. As well as guiding clients through all the requisite trust and estate legal paperwork, my role as a notary public also means I can undertake more specific case work.”

He previously worked in banking with HSBC.
