Seven injured as firefighters rush to house blaze on Coronation Street in Blackpool

A house fire which left seven people injured was tackled by fire crews from Blackpool and South Shore.

Firefighters were called to reports a fire was ripping through a house on Coronation Street at around 10.50pm yesterday (May 29).

Two fire crews from Blackpool and one from South Shore rushed to the scene.

Eight firefighters used breathing apparatus, three hose reels and two ventilation units to battle the blaze.

Two people were taken to hospital via ambulance, and five other casualties were assessed by paramedics at the scene.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Two fire crews from Blackpool and one from South Shore were called to reports of a domestic property fire on Coronation Street, Blackpool.

"There were seven casualties at the incident, with two conveyed to hospital via ambulance and five assessed at the scene who did not attend hospital."

Firefighters tackled the blaze for approximately two hours.

North West Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
