A primary school has pushed back its opening date following work to remove asbestos in the building.
Children at Carleton Green Community Primary School can enjoy an extra three days holiday next week.
The school was due to open for the new term on Monday, however, a spokesman said more time was needed to clean up the building after its ceilings and lights were replaced during the six week holidays due to asbestos.
She said: "All the asbestos has been safely removed, we are just a bit behind schedule in putting everything back together again. We're just three days behind.
"The first day that the staff were allowed back in was yesterday, and it was then that they saw the state of the building and realised it wouldn't be finished for Monday.
"The building is completely safe. School will start as normal on Thursday."
