Mum-of-two-turned-businesswoman Sarah Harris wants to help Fylde coast residents find their true colours.

Sarah has recently turned her hand to becoming a consultant for Colour Me Beautiful, which offers colours analysis, image advice and personal styling for men and women.

After she lost her husband Keith three years ago to cancer – Keith Harris, the popular ventriloquist and TV star – she felt she needed a new job.

And she needed something which would work around looking after the couple’s teenage children.

Sarah, of Poulton, said: “I have a background in fashion, I’ve done fashion and photography modelling, I used to work in fashion before I had my children. And I knew Cliff Bashforth, the chief executive of Colour Me Beautiful, from way back.

“I had to get back into work and was trying to think about what I could do. I contacted Wyre Council who were very helpful and gave me some ideas.

“I had a consultation to have my colours done myself and thought it was so interesting. How just wearing the right colour could really make such a difference to how you looked – your skin, your eyes. It was like having a mini face-lift.

“I decided to look into it and underwent the consultant training – which is really in-depth. Back in the day fashion used to be about seasonal colours and warm and cooler shades, but it’s much wider than that.

“Once people know what colours suit them, they can save money by only getting the colours which are right. When you can make someone look better and feel better, it’s rewarding, you get a lot of satisfaction from it.”

Sarah hopes her story will inspire other women to follow their passions to make a career change, or set up their own business – no matter what stage in life they are at.
